“Enjoy the complete view of Taj.” It has been painted on the board above our door for years, and it is still the most honest thing we can tell you about this hotel.
We are a small hotel in the lanes of Taj Ganj, a ten-minute walk from the South Gate of the Taj Mahal. What we offer is straightforward: clean rooms with private bathrooms and hot water, home-cooked food, free Wi-Fi, free parking at the door, and a rooftop that looks straight at the monument.
Guests write about the same three things again and again — the location, the view from the roof, and the staff. We would rather be very good at those than pretend to be a resort.
You cannot
move a view.
Hotels can be renovated, restaurants can be improved, staff can be trained. But nobody can build another hotel where this one stands. The Taj is where it is, and so are we.
